Heavy rainfall continues to lash Kerala, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing warnings of very heavy rainfall in several districts over the next five days.

Palakkad, Kerala: All schools in Palakkad district will be closed on Tuesday because of heavy rain, officials said. The closure will also apply to ongoing Onam examinations.
However, colleges and professional institutions will remain open as scheduled.
The authorities clarified that previously scheduled public examinations, interviews, model residential schools, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas will not be affected by the holiday.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall continues to lash Kerala, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing warnings of very heavy rainfall in several districts over the next five days.
The IMD has announced orange alerts for three districts, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod, where isolated very heavy rainfall is expected, with 24-hour precipitation ranging from 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm.
Yellow alerts have been issued for eight districts: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, and Kozhikode, indicating heavy rain in the coming days.
