Kerala is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall till Tuesday as a strong low-pressure system develops over the Bay of Bengal.

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall across Kerala till Tuesday, owing to the influence of an extremely low-pressure system over the southwest Bay of Bengal.
According to the IMD, the system is expected to move in a northwesterly direction and make landfall between Trincomalee and Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka by this afternoon. In addition, a cyclonic circulation persists over the southeast Arabian Sea near south Kerala, further enhancing weather activity in the region.
The weather department has cautioned that the combined effect of the Bay of Bengal system and the Arabian Sea circulation may bring intermittent rainfall over the coming days.
Residents are advised to stay updated with official IMD alerts and follow safety guidelines where necessary.
