Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Awards (Kerala Puraskaram) 2023, the highest honor given by the state government to distinguished personalities who have made comprehensive contributions in various fields, have been announced. This year’s Kerala Jyothi award for contributions to the field of literature has been offered to T. Padmanabhan.
Retd. Justice M. Fathima Beevi for contributions to the field of social service and civil service and Nataraja Krishnamurthy (Soorya Krishnamurthy), for his stellar contributions to arts were awarded the Kerala Prabha award.
The Kerala Sree awards were awarded to Punalur Somarajan (social services), Dr. V.P Gangadharan (health), Ravi D.C (industry and commerce), K.M Chandrasekhar (civil service) and Ramesh Narayan (arts-music).
The Kerala Jyothi award is given to one person per year, Kerala prabha to two persons and Kerala Sree to five persons, after taking into consideration the comprehensive contributions to various fields.
The awardees were selected by a committee comprising Adoor Gopalakrishnan, K. Jayakumar and Dr. John Onakkoor.
