Kannur: Two youngsters accused of using electronic devices to cheat during a Public Service Commission (PSC) examination in Kerala have been remanded in police custody for two days by the Kannur Judicial First Class Magistrate Court.
The accused have been identified as N P Muhammed Sahad (25) of Mundalur, Peralassery, who appeared for the exam, and A Sabeel (23) of Peralassery, who allegedly provided answers via bluetooth.
Police, led by Kannur ACP Pradeepan Kannippoyil, questioned the two suspects together. The investigation team will collect evidence at the exam centre, the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Payyambalam, here on Wednesday.
The cheating was caught during the PSC Secretariat Assistant examination held in two sessions in the morning and afternoon.
During interrogation, first accused Sahad reportedly confessed that he had previously also used similar methods to cheat in an earlier PSC examination. He admitted to cheating in the Sub-Inspector recruitment test held at Government Higher Secondary School, Pallikunnu, here.
