In yet another accolade for the Kerala Police, the State Forensic Science Laboratory in Thiruvananthapuram has earned recognition from the Data Security Council of India (DSCI). The laboratory was honoured as the second-best government institution in India for its pioneering work in digital forensics.

The DSCI constituted this award to acknowledge the "efforts made by government forensic laboratories that have made significant strides in building or leveraging advanced digital forensic tools & techniques for digital investigations and contribute to the overall capability building in the field of digital forensics".

While the State Forensic Science Laboratory in Madivala, Bengaluru, emerged as the winner, the Thiruvananthapuram laboratory and the National Forensic Sciences University in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, were named runners-up.

Dr. Pradeep Saji K, Director of the Thiruvananthapuram laboratory, along with Assistant Directors Deep A. S. and Suresh S. R., were present to receive the award at a ceremony held in Delhi.
