Kerala MVD initiates strict action against motorists crossing railway gates illegally. Learn about the new enforcement drive and avoid license suspension today.

Thiruvananthapuram: Drivers attempting to cross railway gates after warning signals are activated or while the gates are closing will now face strict action in Kerala, including possible suspension of driving licences, under a new road and rail safety enforcement drive.
The move follows repeated incidents of motorists trying to rush through level crossings despite warning lights and closing gates, putting their lives and others at risk. Authorities said such violations have raised serious safety concerns and prompted immediate intervention.
The Motor Vehicles Department has directed Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) to initiate action based on complaints from Indian Railways. Police have also started registering cases against violators.
Officials said the crackdown is aimed at preventing dangerous behaviour at railway crossings and reducing accidents caused by negligence.
