Thiruvananthapuram: PWD Minister PA Muhammad Riyas has lashed out against Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan, saying that he is the most cowardly opposition leader the state has ever witnessed. While speaking to reporters on Monday in connection with the ruckus in the assembly, Riyas said that if there were an award for a cowardly leader of the opposition, it could be given to VD Satheesan.

“Even when the Chief Minister expressed his willingness to answer the adjournment motion, the leader of the opposition and the UDF fled from the assembly, fearing backlash,” said Riyas.

“We were ready to discuss all the issues raised by the opposition. Had the discussion been held, an ambulance would have been needed to take the Leader of Opposition to the hospital. As we said we are ready to discuss the adjournment motion, VD Satheesan and his friends disappeared from the scene without leaving a trace. Instead of indulging in tongue-wagging, one should have the guts to face a discussion,” the minister said.

“The Leader of Opposition is full of mere dialogues and no substance. Since he has no experience in the agitation front, he doesn’t have the capacity to take the right political decisions,” said Riyas.
