Kochi/Kozhikode: The scrutiny of Leader of the Opposition V D Satheesan’s nomination papers has been put on hold. The decision to defer the process came after a representative of the LDF candidate, Tyson Master, raised several objections. Consequently, the Returning Officer (RO) has directed both parties to submit their detailed explanations in writing. A final decision on whether to accept the nomination is expected by 3.00 pm following an evaluation of these submissions.

One of the primary complaints raised by the LDF is that V D Satheesan’s vehicle has been fined twice by the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD), and these fines allegedly remain unpaid. Furthermore, the LDF’s complaint asserts that Satheesan failed to disclose certain sources of income and undervalued his gold assets in the affidavit.

Developments in Beypore

Meanwhile, in the Beypore constituency, the LDF constituency committee has filed a complaint with the Election Commission against the acceptance of the nomination papers of P V Anvar, who is contesting as a UDF-backed independent candidate.

The LDF alleges that P V Anvar withheld information regarding pending legal cases in his nomination documents. Specifically, the complaint claims that Anvar failed to include details of the phone-tapping case registered against him by the Malappuram Police.
