Thiruvananthapuram: On the occasion of Keralappiravi, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Assembly Speaker A N Shamseer conveyed warm wishes to the people of the state and Keralites worldwide on the occasion of Kerala's 68th formation day, known as 'Keralappiravi'.

The Governor emphasised the importance of expanding the use of Malayalam and promoting ideals of inclusivity and social justice. Both Vijayan and Shamseer called upon Keralites everywhere to stand united and work collectively for the state’s advancement.

"My best wishes to Keralites across the globe on Keralappiravi. Kerala’s progress in human development since its formation reflects our commitment to inclusivity and social justice, values that are deeply embedded in our social fabric and bolstered by social reform efforts, educational advancements, and more," said Khan. "As we celebrate Keralappiravi, let us renew our dedication to promoting our mother tongue, Malayalam, upholding inclusivity and social justice, and striving toward a sustainable and equitable future for all," he added.

In his message, CM Vijayan highlighted what he described as the Central Government’s anti-Kerala policies and criticised the opposition for remaining passive. He noted that, despite obstacles posed by the Centre and the opposition, the LDF government in Kerala has persevered and achieved substantial progress. However, he stressed that more needs to be done, such as enhancing the commercial sector, improving agriculture, creating local jobs, and making waste management more efficient. He also urged everyone to work together to sustain the state’s rapid development.

Speaker Shamseer remarked that Kerala’s unity has no space for communalism, extremism or caste-based prejudice. He noted that this unity has enabled Kerala to withstand numerous natural disasters and urged Keralites worldwide to continue moving forward together.
