Kochi: The Kerala High Court opined that Thalassery is a hub of political rivalry and violence. Thousands of cases are pending in the Sessions Court. Trial of 5498 cases are pending, the Sessions Court informed the High Court in a report.
The high court made the remark in the order granting bail to the accused in the Panoor Mansoor murder case. The accused in the case were granted bail as the trial is likely to be delayed.
Mansoor murder was a political murder and the crime was committed out of political vendetta. Clashes erupted between CPM and Muslim League workers on the polling day, the court stated in the order.
