Thiruvananthapuram: The Meteorological Centre has forecast that heavy rain will continue across Kerala until Wednesday.
A yellow alert has been issued in the following districts:
Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Idukki.
Monday: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Palakkad, and Malappuram.
According to the Met Centre, a low-pressure area has formed near the Strait of Malacca and the south Andaman Sea. This system is expected to intensify into a stronger low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal in the coming days.
In addition, a cyclonic circulation persists over the southeast Arabian Sea near Lakshadweep, contributing to the strengthening of rain activity. Another cyclonic circulation is present over the sea near Kanyakumari, further enhancing the rainfall conditions in the region.
