Kochi: Kerala High Court has quashed the case against Hindu Aikya Vedi leader KP Sasikala over her alleged involvement in instigating violence during hartal at Thodupuzha.
She was booked for alleged involvement in violence during the hartal which was observed for protesting against the 2018 Supreme Court verdict allowing entry of women in Sabarimala temple.
Thodupuzha Judicial First Class Magistrate called off further proceedings in the case and dropped all charges against the leader. Justice K Haripal issued the order after observing that there was no incitement to the violence while considering Sasikala’s plea to quash the proceedings against her.
Notably, the police have not produced any evidence other than Sub Inspector’s report in this case. The court took the decision in view of the Kerala government’s decision to acquit the individuals who were booked over protest against the SC verdict allowing women in Sabarimala temple.
