Kochi: Kerala High Court on Tuesday dismissed the plea of state government challenging the appointment of Prof Ciza Thomas as the vice-chancellor in-charge of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
Prof Ciza will continue as the VC. The court directed the chancellor to speed up the appointment of a permanent vice-chancellor.

HC slammed the government for recommending the Principal Secretary as the temporary VC. Court noted the government official does not have the qualification to hold the post. Prof Ciza argued the Pro-VC was also unqualified for the post.
Prof Ciza was appointed after the Supreme Court quashed the appointment of Prof Rajasree MS citing violation of UGC regulations.
Chancellor Arif Mohammed Khan dismissed the recommendation of Kerala government for temporary VC and appointed Prof Ciza. Government challenged this in the court citing violation of KTU Act.
