As per the new order, government employees will now receive DA at the rate of 32%

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has issued an order sanctioning the pending Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears for government employees and pensioners. A 10% arrear has been approved and will be paid along with the March salary.
As per the new order, government employees will now receive DA at the rate of 32%. This comes after a 3% hike granted last week, followed by the additional 10% arrears now sanctioned. With this, the government has fulfilled the 10% DA arrears promised in the Budget. The order was issued by Additional Chief Secretary KR Jyothilal.
Employees were actually eligible for 35% DA. However, only 22% had been paid so far, leaving a 13% arrear. The Budget had announced that this arrear would be disbursed in instalments. Pay Revision Commission was also announced in the budget.
