Thrissur: The cultural department of the Kerala government has issued an order banning the sales of 30 books published by the Sahitya Akademi for carrying the promotional logos of the Pinarayi government, celebrating the second anniversary of its second term in office.

The books, which have been published as part of the 100-day celebrations of the government’s anniversary, carried the ‘logos’ on their cover pages, inviting severe criticisms from bibliophiles.

However, C P Aboobacker, secretary of the Sahitya Akademi stated that he has not received any order in this regard.

It is also said that the government has issued another special order, regulating/interfering in the day-to-day functions of the Akademi.
