Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has announced the schedule for the 2026–27 academic year's Onam terminal examinations and the subsequent Onam holidays for schools across the state.

The Onam examinations for Lower Primary (LP), Upper Primary (UP), and High School (HS) sections are scheduled to begin on August 13,   2026. For Higher Secondary sections, the examinations will commence on August 14, 2026.

Key exam schedule and holiday dates

Exam conclusion: Examinations for all categories will conclude on August 20, 2026.

School closure: Schools will close for the Onam break from August 21,  2026, which will remain a working day.

Contingency plan: Should a government holiday be declared on any scheduled exam day, that day's exam will be conducted on August 21,  2026.

Reopening date: Schools will reopen after the Onam holidays on August 31, 2026.
