Kollam: Police nabbed four criminals who attacked a man and his daughter at Pothencode in Thiruvananthapuram. Four of the including the key accused Faisal were arrested. They were absconding after the incident. The police arrested them from a lodge in Karunagappally here. 

After receiving a tip-off about their hideout, Karunagappally police arrested the accused from the lodge on Sunday morning. They will soon be shifted to Thiruvananthapuram. 

The gang of four goons had attacked Venjarammoodu native Sheikh Muhammad and his daughter at Pothencode on Wednesday around 8.30 pm. The family was stopped by the gang when they were unable to give space for their car to take a turn.

The car could not be reversed as there were several vehicles on the main road. The enraged goons got out of the vehicle and attacked the man and daughter. They attacked the father while showering abuse, and the daughter was reportedly assaulted while she tried to stop them. 

It is learned that the accused Faisal was involved in the Pallippuram gold robbery case too. The gang including him had allegedly attacked a group of youths on the same day they attacked the man and daughter. One of the youngsters was seriously injured as the goons smashed four beer bottles on his head and stabbed him with the bottle below his chest.
