Thiruvananthapuram: Commemorating the last supper of Jesus Christ, people belonging to the Christian community around the globe are observing Maundy Thursday today. The special offerings related to Maundy Thursday are held on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning at the churches.

The feet-washing ritual was held at churches on the occasion of Maundy Thursday. This ritual is carried out symbolising the event wherein Jesus Christ washed the feet of his disciples.

‘Pesaha Appam’, a special steamed cake will be made in the houses of Christian believers on Maundy Thursday. The family will cut the cake and share it.

Remembering the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Good Friday will be observed tomorrow.

Latin, Orthodox and Jacobite church heads officiated the rituals which were held in connection with Maundy Thursday at the churches.
