Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Budget presented by Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal on Monday has set aside Rs 5 crores to set up a laser and sound show at the outer wall of the Idukki Arch Dam.
In 2018, the Kerala Hydel Tourism Centre proposed an ambitious laser show project at the Idukki dam. However, the project stalled in the later years until its revival in the present budget.
Meanwhile, Rs 8 crores is set aside for a 40 MW hydroelectric project in Mankulam. Rs 10 crores is allocated to conduct a feasibility study for new hydroelectric projects.
Furthermore, Rs 20 crores have been announced for renovating 35-40-year-old hydroelectric projects in the state. KSEB will launch new e-charging stations in every district.
