Kozhikode: Kerala State Beverages Corporation (Bevco) liquor outlets will remain closed for a total of 21 days in 2026, based on the holiday and dry day pattern followed in 2025. The closures include nine public holidays and 12 dry days, giving drinkers several dates to keep in mind throughout the year.

The new year will begin with a Dry Day on January 1, 2026, marking the first closure for Bevco outlets. January will see three non-operational days, including dry days and public holidays, making it a relatively restrictive month for liquor sales.

According to the schedule, Bevco shops will also remain shut for four days in August, including dry days and national holidays. However, it is important to note that all Bevco holidays apply to government-run Triveni liquor shops, which may function on select days when Bevco outlets remain closed.

Among Kerala’s major festivals, Thiruvonam is the only festival day on which Bevco outlets will be closed. Liquor shops will remain open on Vishu and Christmas, as per the existing practice.

Apart from the listed holidays, Bevco outlets will also remain closed on election days, local festivals, and special regional functions, depending on official notifications.
