Thiruvananthapuram: The state government’s new liquor brand, ‘Minnal Magic’, is set to reach the market by the end of the month. The new brandy will be distributed through outlets of the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO). ‘Minnal Magic’ is being produced at Malabar Distilleries in Palakkad.
The liquor will be sold in half-litre bottles priced at ₹400 each. The target is to produce 900 cases of liquor per day at the Malabar Distilleries unit.
Initially, authorities had considered giving the liquor a different name, but later finalised ‘Minnal Magic’. Though the plan is to make it available at outlets by the end of this month, the government has not yet fixed an exact launch date.
The move is part of the government’s effort to make liquor available at lower prices through its own brand.
