Kerala government considering extending bar operating hours to 10 am-midnight. Aiming to boost business and tourism. Decision soon.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government is reportedly considering extending the operating hours of bars across the state. Currently permitted to function from 11 am to 11 pm, bars may be allowed to open from 10 am to midnight under the proposed plan. A final decision is expected in the next cabinet meeting.
According to various sources, the move comes in response to long-standing demands from bar owners and aims to give a boost to the state’s business and tourism sectors.
Bars located in tourist destinations, which presently operate until midnight, could see their hours extended further, potentially until 3 am, under the new proposals.
