
Thiruvananthapuram: Vigilance has given clean chit to DGP Tomin J Thachankary in the bribery case.
The case pertains to Thachankary allegedly receiving bribe from Palakkad RTO while serving as transport commissioner.
The probe team reported that no evidence was found to prove the charges against Thachankary.
As per the case, Thachankary reportedly received a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from Palakkad RTO while serving as transport commissioner.
The probe report submitted before the vigilance special court observed that no evidence was found against the DGP. Vigilance also noted that the digital evidence including audio tapes submitted along with the complaint were not trustworthy.
When the complaint was raised against Thachankary, then vigilance director Jacob Thomas ordered a probe against him.
In the report before the court, the vigilance recommended a department-level probe against Thachankary.
