Kayamkulam: Abin C Raj, the second accused in a case registered over the fake certificate row at MSM College, revealed to the police that he procured Nikhil Thomas's degree certificate from an agency in Palarivattom, Kochi. He added that he charged Rs 2 lakh from Nikhil for the same.
The 27-year-old, hailing from Kandalloor in Alappuzha, was arrested on Monday night upon his arrival at Kochi International Airport from the Maldives. Police revealed that he had confessed to the crimes.
Meanwhile, police officials suspect that Abin might have procured fake certificates for others as well.
Abin, a former SFI leader, was working as teacher in Maldives. Following his arrest, the Maldives administraion dismissed him from his job.
