Thiruvananthapuram: The government on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 6 lakh each for the 462 families in Kavalappara who were affected by the landslide. Rs 27.72 crore was sanctioned from Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
Those who lost houses and land, those who were affected by river changing its course and those instructed to shift homes by geology team will be given the compensation amount to buy land for constructing houses.
The landslide that followed the floods in 2019, had stolen the lives of 59 persons in Kavalappara. Around 42 houses were fully destroyed.
