Kattappana: Nitheesh, the accused in the Kattappana double murder case, is a popular online novelist. He has published three novels including 'Mahamanthrikam', resembling his own life and crimes- just like Georgekutty from Drishyam 2.

Nitheesh started posting his online novel, 'Mahamanthrikam', 2 years before the release of Drishyam 2. Nitheesh is in police custody for the murders of his child and its grandfather, Vijayan, a native of Kanjiyar Kakkattukada. Vijayan's son, Vishnu, is also an accused in the case.

Nitheesh approached Vijayan's family with a facade of witchcraft. During this period, he had a kid with Vijayan's daughter. Nitheesh killed the newborn boy in 2016. After two years, Nitheesh started posting his online novel titled 'Mahamanthrikam', which narrates the tale of an evil sorcerer who employs witchcraft to ensnare and violate an innocent girl—a storyline strikingly similar to the events unfolding in Kattappana. Even though the subsequent chapters of the novel stopped abruptly after the sixth chapter, Nitheesh continued practicing his witchcraft.

The Kattappana double murder bears resemblance to several scenes in Jeethu Joseph's films Drishyam 1 and 2. Like in the movie, he hid Vijayan's body under the floor of his rented house after the murder in 2023. He even submitted a bus ticket to the police to prove his alibi. IT was during the police interrogation of Nitheesh in connection with a theft case, the story about the murders was revealed. Georgekutty, from Drishyam, writes a novel that resembles his crimes, which is exactly what Nitheesh does.
