Thrissur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday carried out raid at the residences of former minister AC Moideen and few others, suspected to be benamis of the leader, in Thrissur. The raids were in connection with the Karuvannur bank scam and were conducted by a team from Kochi around 7 am.
As per reports, the ED had been carrying out comprehensive investigation over the scam in the bank. Earlier, the Kerala police had probed the case, but the investigation failed to make much headway.
Subsequently, ED took over the case and questioned numerous people, including the bank employees and others. It is learnt that most of the statements given by the employees are against the former minister.
“He (Moideen) is also directly involved in the case,” ED authorities said.
