Kasaragod: A major breach of exam protocol has rocked Kannur University, as the BCA sixth semester question paper was allegedly leaked and circulated among students via WhatsApp.

The question paper was allegedly leaked from Greenwoods Arts and Science College, located near Palakkunnu in Kasaragod. Based on this information, a formal complaint has been filed with the district police chief and the local police, seeking a thorough investigation into the incident.

The exams were conducted between March 18 and April 2, 2025. The leak came to light during a routine inspection carried out by a university squad, which revealed irregularities pointing towards a breach.

A internal inquiry carried out by the university has indicated the involvement of teachers in leaking the paper. It is learnt that the vice-chancellor of the university appointed a committee to probe the matter.

It is learnt that the question paper is sent directly to the college principal in a highly secure manner, just two hours before the scheduled exam. The fact that students were able to access the paper on WhatsApp prior to the test suggests a serious lapse in the college’s internal security measures.

Meanwhile, a representative of the Kerala Students Union (KSU) District Committee has called for strict action, demanding that those responsible be taken into police custody.
