Kannur: Inquest report of Nihal, young boy, who hailed from Muzhappilangad in Kannur, suggested that he was attacked by multiple stray dogs. Bite marks were detected all over his body. He sustained deep injuries on his neck, face, and behind his ear.
Nihal’s body was found near the gate of a deserted house in the locality around 8:30 pm by locals after a search. There were injuries to his left leg as well. His body was handed over to his relatives after postmortem. Nihal’s father is scheduled to arrive from Bahrain by this evening.
Meanwhile, the locals expressed their concern over the rising stray dog menace in the region. Political parties are planning various protest demonstrations including laying siege to the panchayat office.
Nihal, who was differently-abled and faced speech-related issues, may have been unable to call for help at the time of the attack. Edakkad police had also joined the search operations for the missing boy, before finding him dead.
