Kannur: A man troubled by YouTuber Thoppi’s (Mohammad Nihad) obscene prank call has lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police (SP) here. The move comes as the officials concerned did not take action over the complaint lodged with Sreekandapuram Police Station.
The complainant is Saji, a native of Sreekandapuram, who is engaged in barbed wire fencing. He had done fencing work in Thoppi’s native Mangadu. Saji had placed an advertisement carrying his mobile number on the barbed wire so that people could contact him for work.

However, trouble started after Thoppi in an uploaded video showed the advertisement, following which he did a prank call that used obscene language.
Ever since that Saji has been receiving calls with obscene language. It may be noted that the Malayalam word for barbed wire fencing is ‘Kambi Veli’. Some use word Kambi as a slang term and sexual innuendo, despite being repugnant.
Earlier, Thoppi was booked for appropriate behaviour and use of foul language during the inaugural of a shop in Valanchery. He was arrested in a dramatic episode and later released on default bail. The new development comes at this juncture.
