Kanhangad: Amid a family dispute, a man took one of his two children with him and left for the Gulf. Following that his wife, claiming that her son was abducted, approached the police station and then to the court. As per the directions from the High Court, the police, with the help of Interpol, brought both the father and son back to the country. The father, who was arrested, was granted bail by the court, and the son was returned to his mother.

On Wednesday, the mother arrived at the Hosadurga Police Station and the court with her younger son. When the siblings met after two and a half years, their emotional display of affection touched everyone. The husband of Tabshira, a resident of Kolavayal, had complained against her spouse Shakkeer (40). The incident dates back to 2022, when Shakkeer came to Tabshira’s house at Cheemeni and took their six-year-old elder son with him.

As soon as Tabshira learned that her husband had taken their son and gone to the Gulf, she filed a complaint, prompting the Hosadurga Police to register a case. The case included charges of trespassing and kidnapping.

A few days prior, Tabshira had filed a habeas corpus petition in the High Court. The court instructed that both the child and the father be presented on the third of the following month. Following that, the Hosadurga Police sought Interpol's assistance and issued a red corner notice against Shakkeer. They received information from Interpol that Shakkeer and his son were returning to the country via Mangalore airport. Following Inspector P Ajithkumar's instructions, the police reached Mangalore airport on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday morning, the police brought Shakkeer and his son back to Kanhangad. After recording the arrest, they presented them to the Hosadurga First Class Judicial Magistrate. Meanwhile, following police instructions, Tabshira also arrived at the station. The elder son is said to be facing mental challenges. When he saw his mother with his brother, he ran to her and embraced her, sharing moments of affection.
