Athani: Despite being the lone accused in the serial blasts that rocked Kalamassery on Sunday, Kochi native Dominic Martin displayed no remorse when the police mentioned the death of three people.
He displayed no emotions when the police discussed the same, even when news of a child's death was mentioned while he was brought to collect evidence at his residence in Athani, near Aluva, on Tuesday. Despite spending seven hours at the house, Dominic remained largely silent, often keeping his head down.
Three employees of a firm in Athani live in various rooms in the flat. Police say that Martin doesn't maintain a relationship with other tenants in the flat. He came to the house a few days ago in connection with painting works and spoke with tenants about increasing the rent. Police suspect that Martin visited his flat during these days to make IEDs.
Furthermore, Martin might have been aware that his tenants would not be present in the house during the weekends. So, police suspect he used this short window to use the flat to make IEDs.
