Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K Surendran stated that the state government’s decision to hand over the solar rape case to CBI is an attempt to fool the people ahead of Assembly elections.

He said that the LDF government did not even move a finger regarding the case despite being in power for close to 5 years. The decision to hand over the case to CBI now, is a political drama. This is an example of the close nexus between LDF and UDF. A similar political understanding was made in TP murder case as well. Oommen Chandy-led UDF government saved the CPM leaders who were accused in the case, he alleged.

It is fascinating that CPM, which opposes CBI investigation into the Wadakkanchery Life Mission, Periya double murder and Lavalin cases, wants the central agency to investigate solar rape case. The public has realised that CPM’s hypocrisy is pure politics, Surendran added.
