Alleged polling booth rule violations in Kannur

According to the complaint, the incident occurred at a polling station in Kizhunna, Kannur, where Sudhakaran allegedly entered the booth accompanied by his aide during voting in the Kerala Assembly polls.

Yuva Morcha leaders claimed that Dinesh accompanied the MP up to the electronic voting machine (EVM) and stood beside him while he cast his vote, raising concerns over the violation of Election Commission polling booth guidelines.

They further alleged that Dinesh carried and used a mobile phone inside the polling booth—an act strictly prohibited under the Election Commission of India rules for voting.

Video evidence submitted to the Election Commission

The complainants said they have submitted video clips of the alleged incident to the District Returning Officer as part of the Election Commission complaint on polling violations, and are awaiting further inquiry and action.

The Election Commission of India has clear guidelines prohibiting the use or carrying of mobile phones inside polling booths. Voters are required to deposit their devices outside to ensure the secrecy and integrity of the voting process.
