Alappuzha: In what seemed to be a haste decision, Alappuzha district collector John V. Samuel has been replaced. The order to replace John from his position was issued on Thursday night.

Alex Varghese assumed the office of district collector  replacing John on Friday morning.

John Samuel is yet to receive a new position. The reason for the sudden replacement is unclear.
