New Delhi: MP John Brittas has been selected as the best parliamentarian for the Lokmat Parliamentary Awards 2023 by a jury of eminent personalities including Dr Subhash C Kashyap and Praful Patel. 

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari presented the award to Brittas at a function held in New Delhi. 

The CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP from Kerala won the award for his active participation and critical interferences in the proceedings in the house. 

He is the second CPI (M) parliamentarian to achieve the recognition after veteran leader Sitaram Yechury.

The list of former winners also includes Dr Manmohan Singh, LK Advani and Sharad Pawar.
