Kochi: Singer-musician Jassie Gift staged a walkout in protest against a college principal allegedly misbehaving during an event here on Friday. 

The incident happened while Gift was attending an event hosted at St. Peters College in Kolenchery. The singer, who was the chief guest, left the stage in protest against the college principal not allowing a fellow artist from singing at the event. 

After Gift sang a song at the request of the students, the principal came onstage and snatched the microphone from the singer's hand. The principal argued that only Gift should sing a song. The singer termed the principal's action disrespectful before storming off the stage. The students also staged a protest against the principal's conduct.
