Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala state Home department has directed to instigate an investigation against DGP Jacob Thomas for allegedly amassing wealth illegally.

The Home department has directed the Thiruvananthapuram Crime Branch SP to investigate the matter and submit a report by January 31, 2020.

The complaint is that, DGP Jacob Thomas bought land at Rajapalayam in Tamil Nadu while he was in service. The complaint was filed by Kannur native Satyan Naravoor.

Based on the complaint, the Crime Branch had held an investigation earlier. Based on the probe, it recommended the state Home department to conduct a detailed investigation.
