Kozhikode: The MSF leaders who were involved in the ‘Haritha’ (women’s wing of MSF) controversy are reportedly being taken back. The party has decided to bring back Lathif Thurayur and Fawas Ernad. The duo sent a letter to the party leadership expressing regret for engaging in anti-party activities.
It was during the ‘haritha’ controversy that wrapped around the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) that MSF leaders Latheef Thurayur and Fawas Ernad came forward supporting women leaders. They were expelled from the party by the IUML leadership. Now there is reportedly an understanding reached that the two leaders can be brought back.
It is said that, Latheef and Hawas have close connections with KS Hamsa, LDF candidate of Ponnani loksabha constituency. League leadership also feel that, the duo would be used by LDF during the loksabha election campaign. Besides this, the duo have allegedly made some threats regarding leaking of some sensitive information related to party leaders.
It is in the wake of these developments that the party has decided to bring the ousted leaders back to the fold. However, many of the top leaders of the party in the district are against the move to take them back.
