Kozhikode: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) state general secretary PMA Salam on Saturday said that the decision to hold Lok Sabha polls in Kerala on April 26 will cause inconvenience to those following Islam.
According to Salam, April 26 is a Friday, and it is a day believers of Islam visit mosques for prayer (Jum'ah).
Salam noted that election officers and polling agents following the Muslim faith will face some difficulties. He added that the same will be brought to the attention of the Election Commission.
Earlier today, the Election Commission of India announced that elections to all the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala will be held on April 26.
