Suresh Gopi meeting T J Joseph
Thiruvananthapuram: TJ Joseph, a former Malayalam professor at Thodupuzha Newmans College, is likely to be appointed as the member of either Central Minority Commission or National Commission for Minority Education, said reports.
Actor turned politician and Rajya Sabha MP, Suresh Gopi, met him at his house on Wednesday. There are reports that discussions in this regard have reached a final stage on Wednesday.
It has been over ten years Joseph’s hand was severed at palm by religious fundamentalists over a question he framed for an exam. Suresh Gopi’s meeting with him gains added attention in view of the escalating ‘narcotic-jihad’ row.
Suresh Gopi felicitated him with a shawl and their communication lasted 10 minutes. TJ Joseph, however, denied the reports as rumours.
“Suresh Gopi has been in Idukki for the last couple of days. He met many during the course, I am just one among them and it was a friendly meeting. There was no discussion abount appointments,” said Joseph.
He also said that he has no idea whether he would be appointed as the member of either Central Minority Commission or National Commission for Minority Education. “He has not conveyed anything in this regard. I have come to know about it through media reports.”
