Threatening messages sent by Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil to his alleged rape case survivor have surfaced, revealing intimidation tactics.

Thiruvananthapuram: Threatening messages sent by Rahul Mamkootathil to the survivor in the third alleged rape case have come to light. Screenshots of Telegram chats between Rahul and the survivor reveal messages containing death threats aimed at intimidating both the survivor and her family.
In the messages, Rahul warns that those opposing him and their family will face similar retaliation. He states that he is prepared to go to extremes, saying: “I will endure what you do, but you will not. If you come to Kerala, I will come to your home with a few people.” The messages convey a clear threat to the survivor’s safety.
The chats suggest that the survivor had communicated with Rahul before submitting her complaint to the authorities. The threatening messages were sent when she indicated her intention to file the complaint.
In one message, Rahul states: “Do what you have to do, I will take care of the rest. Whatever you say, I have nothing to lose. Go ahead and file the case. You know how it will be when it reaches court; nothing special in it.” Such messages demonstrate a direct challenge to the legal system.
Meanwhile, in his new anticipatory bail plea, Rahul claimed that no sexual offence exists against him and that his relationship with the complainant was consensual. His lawyer told the media that the complainant is an adult and capable of understanding the consequences when she books a room to meet a man.
