Thiruvananthapuram: Minister Bindu Krishna said she does not pay attention to cyber abuse and that incorrectness cannot survive for long. She added that she has faced cyberattacks and ridicule at several stages in her political career.

“I do not believe Cherian Philip behaved that way with any bad intention. But I felt it was inappropriate, that is all,” Bindu Krishna said in an interview to Mathrubhumi after becoming a minister.

She recalled the hardships she faced during childhood. “My father worked in the chit fund sector. At one point, my mother suddenly fell ill and we went through severe financial difficulties. That was when my father started a tea shop. Until I completed my law studies, I used to work there. After I started working, I told my father he no longer needed to continue that job,” she said.

Bindu Krishna also spoke about her electoral setbacks. “I lost three times — in the 2011 Assembly election, the 2014 Lok Sabha election, and the 2021 Assembly election. During those times, I faced severe criticism and ridicule. Initially, winning elections did not seem like such a huge thing to me. But when the mockery continued repeatedly, it became a matter of determination to win at any cost. This victory is the result of the hard work I put in later,” she said.

The minister thanked the people and the Congress leadership for giving her the opportunity. She added that she hopes to serve the people well, regardless of the portfolio she is assigned.
