CCTV footage emerges in Maniyanpilla Raju crash case, raising questions over earlier claims.

Thiruvananthapuram: CCTV footage has surfaced in the hit-and-run case involving actor Maniyanpilla Raju. The visuals appear to question earlier claims by the injured youths while showing how the crash unfolded.
According to the CCTV visuals, the actor’s car slowed down and turned onto the road with its indicator on. The footage also shows a speeding motorcycle colliding with the car, with the riders thrown off on impact.
Earlier, the injured youths had alleged that their bike was hit and knocked aside and that Maniyanpilla Raju did not stop his vehicle after the accident. Both riders sustained serious injuries in the crash.
Arrest, medical examination and bail
Police arrested Maniyanpilla Raju on Friday morning over allegations that he failed to stop the car after the accident. The arrest was recorded when he appeared at the police station following Thursday night’s incident. Museum Police carried out the arrest.
He later underwent a medical examination and was subsequently granted bail.
Actor confirms driving, explains actions
Maniyanpilla Raju confirmed he was driving the car at the time. He maintained that the motorcycle had collided with his car and said the CCTV footage supports this claim.
He also acknowledged the allegation that he did not stop the car, saying he was frightened and he has been sick. He said he had informed police by phone that he would report in the morning. Police, however, had earlier stated they were unable to contact him during the night.
