Malappuram: Health Minister Veena George said that the results of eight more people who were tested for Nipah virus were negative. A total of 66 samples have been negative so far.
Two new people were admitted to hospital with Nipah symptoms. With this, a total of eight people are currently undergoing treatment in Manjeri and Kozhikode Medical Colleges.
Minister Veena George participated online in the Nipah review meeting held at the Malappuram Collectorate in the evening.
A total of 472 people are currently in the contact list. Out of them 220 are in the high risk category. The home visits of health workers as part of the Nipah prevention activities in Pandikkad and Anakkayam panchayats have been completed. They visited 1,477 houses on Thursday. A total of 27,908 houses have been visited by them so far.
A number of 227 people received mental health services on the day.
isolation guidelines. Isolation is 21 days. Discharged persons should also follow isolation guidelines. Strict action will be taken against those who do not.
