Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala High Court on Monday refused to entertain a plea against state Lok Ayukta's decision to transfer the case of alleged nepotism and anomalies in granting aid from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) to ‘full bench’ of the anti-corruption ombudsman.
Back in March, Lok Ayukta, Justice (retired) Cyriac Joseph, and Upa Lok Ayukta, Justice (retired) Harun Ul-Rasheed referred the matter to a three-member full bench. It said the bench would probe whether the state cabinet's decisions can be investigated under Kerala Lokayukta Act, 1999.

Following this, the complainant, RS Sasikumar, moved to the Kerala High Court challenging the decision. The High Court will hear the case on June 7.
A brief on the case
RS Sasikumar moved a plea before the Kerala Lok Ayukta in September 2018, and the hearing concluded on March 18, 2022. It was presided over by Lok Ayukta Cyriac Joseph and Harun Al Rashid. The petition alleged nepotism and discrepancies in the allocation of Rs 25 lakh to the late NCP leader Uzhavoor Vijayan's family, Rs 20 lakh to the family of Praveen, the deceased gunman of former minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, and the payment of personal debts owed by former MLA KK Ramachandran Nair.
