Kochi: The Kerala High Court asked the Transport Commissioner to take measures to ensure that road safety rules are followed.
Justice Anil K Narendran directed the officials to take stern action against those vehicles without registration plates, misuse of name boards in government vehicles, using cooling films and others.
The Assistant Solicitor General explained that only those holding constitutional office could carry the seal of the Government of India and the national flag on their vehicle. It can also be used on vehicles of senior officers in the armed forces.
The Union Ministry of Transport will issue instructions in this regard. The petition will be considered on June 15.
High Court also stated that the use of fancy and powerful lights in vehicles must be avoided.
