Kochi: The Kerala High Court heavily came down on CITU over the attacks on Muthoot employees.

At a time when there are mediation talks under the supervision of the court, there are incidents taking place that ridicule the HC, the court observed.

Justice Mohammed Mushtaq pointed out that the court could not agree to people, including women being attacked in the streets. “If the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) wants to show its might, then let them provide employment to those who lost their jobs,” Justice Mohammed Mushtaq added.

In the light of the attacks on employees including women, the HC has stopped all mediation talks under its supervision.

The advocate representing the Muthoot management also pointed in the court that the effort was to threaten the management and hence there was no need to continue mediation talks. Following this the HC issued an interim order stopping all mediation talks.

The HC will hear the case against Muthoot protest in two weeks.

Meanwhile, the protesters attacked Muthoot employees, who came to the branch at bakery junction at Kottayam on Thursday. The protesters also attacked the journalist who were covering the incident.
