Malappuram: Police seized Rs 10 lakh hawala money from a person near Valanchery Bus Stand on Friday. 

The arrested individual is identified as Abdul Rauf (43), hailing from Kaipuram, Palakkad. The money, brought from Coimbatore to be distributed in Malappuram district, was discovered concealed within a specially crafted bag fastened to his body.

Police team led by Valanchery SI conducted the inspection based on a tip-off received by District Police Chief S. Sasidharan.
