Kondotty: Hajj cells have begun functioning in all the three Hajj camps in the state. The travel documents of Hajj pilgrims, including passport and identity proofs, will be distributed via the Hajj cells in the camps. 

The cells are being operated in advance to categorise the documents of pilgrims on each flight before their arrival. There are 88 officials working under special officer and former SP U Abdul Kareem. 

Of them, 44 officials are posted at the Hajj House in Karipur. Whereas 23 are in Kannur and 21 others in Nedumbassery. The camps will be operational from Saturday. 

Meanwhile, a monitoring team of the union Hajj committee has arrived in Karipur to assess the Hajj preparations in the state.
